General description of apartment Li Galli

This spacious apartment is named Li Galli after the three small islands that it faces. Once belonging to the famous Russian ballet dancer Rudolf Nureyev, this group of islands plus the Amalfi Coast itself are just one example of the breathtaking panorama you will experience while standing on the terrace of this lovely apartment called Li Galli. Situated in a very convenient location, Li Galli does not have any steps, and if you are familiar with the geography of the Amalfi Coast you will appreciate the rarity of this attribute. So for those who, for whatever reason are not able to manage a large number of stairs or simply do not want to, this apartment is perfect for you. This apartment is recently refurbished, and is located in a quiet and central area of Praiano. It is only a few minutes walk from the main church piazza of San Gennaro, where many of the townspeople gather on hot summer nights to chat. You can catch one of the regular blue or green SITA buses to take you anywhere along the coast from Sorrento to Salerno, and the bus stop is just 150 meters from the apartment. From this bus stop you can also board one of the shuttle buses that will take you around Praiano, along the coast to Positano including one of its beaches called La Praia. Overall this is a very comfortable location from which to base yourself while you explore the many wonderful sites on offer. A car is not necessary due to the regular bus services available. The apartment consists of three bedrooms: two of which have double beds with the third having two single beds which can accommodate two additional people at an extra cost of Euro 95 per person per week. There is a kitchen/dining area as well as a lounge with a couch and small TV. There are two bathrooms and a wonderful terrace that spans the length of the apartment giving you an uncompromised view of the ocean and the Amalfi Coast. Also next to the apartment there is a lovely garden of abouot 30 sq. meters equipped with table, 4 chairs and 2 sun-beds. This apartment would be perfect for two couples or a large family group. Li Galli is a perfect example of the type of home that you will find in this region and you will feel very much part of the community. Heating is available if required. The apartment features air conditioning in the two main bedrooms and in the living room.

Location

The apartment is in the central part of Praiano. The restaurants, bars and beach are within walking distance, in about 5 minutes. Positano and Amalfi can be reached by bus or car in 15 minutes.

Parking and accessibility

The apartment is easy accessible without steps, and is located on the second floor of a small building. Parking is possible for free on the communal street at 200 metres far.

Arriving in Praiano

By car, from the airport of Naples use the A3 Salerno Reggio Calabria to Castellammare di Stabia. At the exit, don't turn right, but keep on going straight towards Sorrento. On the way to Sorrento, once in Meta turn left to Positano and Amalfi. Praiano is about 5 kms after Positano. Our usual meeting point will be the Bar Del Sole, located in the centre of the village.

Driving to the Amalfi Coast was challenging so we were all a bit stressed on arrival. Domenico took it all in his stride and came to sort us out and get us as easily as possible to the apartment Li Galli. He spent additional time to assist one of our party to ensure she had internet access- which was very important to her. The accommodation has a truly majestic outlook and position was ideal. It was such a good spot from which to explore the Amalfi Coast. The only issue was the third bedroom. The third bedroom had to accommodate two grown adults and was small, though it would have ben fine for one adult or two small children. Finding accommodation that is reasonably priced for 5 adults travelling together is not easy, and we were very pleased and would recommend other stay.

Quality of towels was average, we think tea towels for drying dishes should be provided, the rubbish removal each day was a bit of a hassle, but overall fairly good.
