General description of villa Il Bacio

Villa Bacio can accommodate up to 8 people in its 3 bedrooms (there are two single beds that can be added in any of the three rooms).
The property is a dream place for lovers of the sun, the views, the quiet , ideal for a relaxing vacation with a focus on outdoor living.

Bacio is on two levels, connected by an internal and external staircases. At the lower floor guests will find two double bedrooms, a bathroom with tub and shower. It is a perfect location for a relaxing holiday. This Praiano self catering apartment consists of a bedroom with an equipped corner kitchen, and a bath with shower a large kitchen equipped with all modern appliances and dining table and chairs, a beautiful sitting room with access to a sea view a covered terrace featuring a table with chairs. From the kitchen there is an internal staircase that might take you to the upper room featuring a beautiful double bedroom with a corner kitchenette a gorgeous full bathroom with colored Vietri tiles with a shower. The best part of the top floor apartment is the magnificent terrace equipped with sun beds , partly shadowed by a bamboo pergola, two tables with chairs. In this part of the villa you will create the best atmosphere of your vacation as you can dine outside looking over Positano and the main square of Praiano, the Mediterranean sea, all the way to the island of Capri.
The apartment has air conditioning, at extra cost, only on the top floor, whilst winter heating is available in the whole villa. TV' are available in the lower floor living room and in the top floor bedroom. TVs offer SAT channels and some foreigner news channels.
The apartment features free Wi-Fi Internet connection.

The villa can be accessed by walking abou t 40 steps and 150 meters from the road. Your rental car can be parked on the communal street borders at circa 300 meters or by a closer private parking at €10/night (booking in advance is necessary). You can walk to the centre of Praiano, using the traditional stone path, climbing down for 5 minutes and about 200 steps. The village centre has restaurants, bars, food stores (butcher, fish-shop, groceries).

If you do not wish to walk the steps down or climb them back, you can use the local Flavio Gioia bus that loops the town of Positano and Praiano during spring and summer; the same local bus will drive you also to the coastal beaches. Sita main bus line stop, connecting Praiano to Sorrento, Amalfi, Ravello and the whole region, is at the bottom of the 200 steps.

Location

The property is in the higher part of Praiano. The restaurants, bars and beach are within walking distance, in about 10 minutes. Positano and Amalfi can be reached by bus or car in 15 minutes.

Parking and accessibility

The apartment is accessible by a short flight of steps (circa 40 steps) plus walking about 100 meters by foot. It is located on the first floor. Parking is possible for free on the communal streel at 300 metres far or, depending on the availability, at a close-by private parking area at Euro 10 per day (needs to be booked in advance).

Arriving in Praiano

By car, from the airport of Naples use the A3 Salerno Reggio Calabria to Castellammare di Stabia. At the exit, don't turn right, but keep on going straight towards Sorrento. On the way to Sorrento, once in Meta turn left to Positano and Amalfi. Praiano is about 5 kms after Positano. Our usual meeting point will be the Bar Del Sole, located in the centre of the village.

The Grotta dello Smeraldo, Amalfi Cathedral, the old paper mills and Paper Museum. The breathtaking views from Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo in Ravello, the City of Music. The famed Isle of Capri. The historic ruins of Pompeii and Herculaneum. The exciting city of Naples. The splendid Royal Palace of Caserta. The stately Greek temples of Paestum.

The house was comfortable for five (5) adults. There was plenty of outside space and the views were amazing. We would recommend the following improvements. - Both kitchens are in need of remodeling - The shower in the top apartment was too small to comfortably take showers. - We had problems with the keys and door locks. These could be better explained at check-in. - The Wi-Fi signal was not strong outside of the living room or to the top terrace. The wireless router could be upgraded. - We had wine on the terrace most nights. However, there were only 3 wine glasses so we had to use beer glasses for wine. - We had made arrangements to check out and depart at 9:00am. However, after waiting until 9:30, we located the home of the property manager to drop off the keys directly. - No off-street parking available. We found spots on the street but were afraid to move our cars, in case all of the spots filled up. Best Regards

It is such a beautiful villa, exceptionally well equipped and with everything we could ask for to make it a comfortable and memorable stay. It is a place that is beautiful inside and out. The combination of the spectacular views of Praiano and your good taste madeit perfect!

Early contact with Luisa was helpful with regards to the bus and train schedules. The owner was helpful with helping us with household instructions and was pleasant when we met her in town during the week. The property is well maintained and equipped - very comfortable for us as two mature couples. Some glitch may be responsible for the lack of timely communication on how to connect at Praiano, but we don't know what it was. We received no messages with enough detail to let us get to the villa on our own. The local public phone was out of order. Village residents helped us sort out the confusion, but the rep suggested that the e-mails may have been waylaid by a spam filter. However, this was ot the case. One other issue arose - the very local bus was not running due to road repair. This was mentioned only when we asked after we had arrived. The web description of public transit does not seem to match the current conditions. All in all, we had a wonderful time, though more attention to check-in arrangements would have been appreciated.
