General description of apartment *Rocaille Major*

Rocaille Major is located in a beautiful and recently restored baroque house of Positano, plastered in its typical strong red color. The house was built during the 18th century and is beautifully ornate in that frivolous rococo style. The apartment area is of about 65 square meters (700 s.f.) and accommodates 4 people in its majestic matrimonial bedroom and comfortable sofa bed.
The place is very easy to reach being on the main road and close to the bus stop, a grocery store and fresh fruit little market, not far from the center of Positano. You get to the apartment by only climbing up 20 steps and reaching the first floor.
There is a wide terrace of 50 square meters (540 square feet) that overlooks Positano; it is partly shaded by a porch and equipped with a table, chairs, a sun umbrella, a deck chair and a sun lounger.
You enter the living room equipped with a TV-SAT and air-conditioning/heating unit, sofa bed that can be converted into a matrimonial bed for two guests; the room features a well-equipped kitchenette with a four-burner electric cooker, an electric oven, a small refrigerator without freezer, a dishwasher, a microwave oven, an Italian-style coffee-maker and an American-style coffee-maker. The living room has access to the main bathroom of the apartment, featuring a washbasin, a toilet and large fully-enclosed shower.
The matrimonial bedroom has a king size bed a wardrobe an a Satellite TV and is equipped with an air conditioning/heating unit. This bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, spacious and equipped with a washbasin, a toilet and a fully enclosed shower. The bedroom has direct access to the terrace.
The apartment is definitely modern, clean and efficient; it was restored in a great way in the year 2009.

Location

The villa is situated at only 1km from the beach; the centre is at 5 minutes walk. Amalfi and Sorrento are both reached by bus at 30 minutes drive.

Parking and accessibility

You reach the apartment by walking up only 20 steps from the main road. Free parking is difficult in the area and could be available at 500 meters from the property, at few minutes' walk. Private paying parking is possible at 10 minutes walk, in the village centre or valet parking at €22/night. Bus stop is at only 1 minute away from the villa.

Arriving in Positano

To reach the property from Naples airport use the A3 to Castellammare di Stabia; then follow Sorrento - Positano. The house is by the hotel Margherita, the Sponda district.

At your arrival the property manager will ask you to pay a security deposit of EUR 200, payable in cash. The security deposit will be returned to you prior to your departure less any charges for accidental damages to the property.

Our stay in Rocaille Major was fabulous, as well as the verandah being clean the accommodation inside was sparkling, spacious and just perfect. Anna kindly met us at the apartment and showed us round and also gave us advise on restaurants and shopping. Next time we return to Positano we will definitely be staying at Rocaille Major again. Thank you Anna for making our holiday wonderful.
