General description of apartment Laurito

Laurito is an apartment set in a building of 5 apartments and has a area of 130 square meters circa. It sleeps up to five persons 4 in its 2 bedrooms and 1 in a single bed. It has a long balcony that is in front of its large sitting room just above the sea, with a spectacular view of the Amalfi Coast, from Capri to Positano, and the island of Li Galli. There are two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a roomy kitchen, a large living room, with a large balcony above the sea and a small garden. The villa is a modern building well maintained on four levels, which clings to the rocky cliff. You will be in the first row in front of the sea and of the spectacular panorama of the coast of Amalfi: in front of you there will be just a short tract of coast covered by the vegetation and the sea. No other buildings will disturb your view, just the coast and the sea will open in front of you. Villa Laurito is located between the villages of Praiano and Positano, just outside the centre of the villages. The area stretches over a sloping land between the main coastal road and the sea, where you will find characteristic small white buildings with dome roofs, interconnected vertically by narrow stairways, and horizontally by just as narrow alleys. These stairways can be travelled over only on foot. You will start finding shops, bar and restaurants at approximately 1,5 kms from here, 20 minutes by foot. To reach the villa you will need to walk from the parking area only 2 minutes and only 10 steps. The entrance the villa is very beautiful and accurate. After it, you will find yourself in a corridor that leads to the beautiful living room with views towards the coast and the sea. On the sides of this corridor you will find the main bathroom, the bedrooms (one has en-suite bathroom) and the beautiful kitchen. The living room has the wonderful and comfortable couches where you can watch the television. When you enter the living room, your attention will be immediately grabbed by the large glass door that gives access to the terrace, and by the splendid panorama of sky and sea that you will immediately see. When you enter the terrace you will have in front of you a breathtaking view in its entirety: below, you will see the green of a short tract of coast that dives into the blue sea, which is very close. On the left your sight will be able to reach the southern part of the Gulf of Salerno. On the right your eyes will embrace a wide view of the sea and of the coast which surrounds the characteristic village of Positano, and will reach Punta Campanella and the island of Capri. The famous Faraglioni of Capri can be seen at the horizon, and, closer, you can admire the small islands of Li Galli. The air is clear and perfumed by the pine trees and by the sea. The seascape is of touching beauty. The terrace is equipped with a small table and chairs and two deck chairs. Here you will be able to comfortably relax and enjoy the sun, admire magnificent sunsets over the sea and enjoy the starry nights. The kitchen has table with chairs, a four-burner cooker, oven, refrigerator with freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. The villa has its private access to the sea, but you will have to climb down 500 steps circa and it is also close to some characteristic public beaches of the Amalfi Coast. The villa can be easily reached by bus, a car is recommended but not necessary The stop for the bus that connects the villages of the coast is at approximately 50 meters (55 yards) from the villa. From the house you can easily reach the tourist centres on the Amalfi Coast and of the Sorrento Coast, as well as Capri. Staying at Villa you will enjoy a vacation in a natural environment of amazing beauty, and you will also have a base to visit Pompeii, Paestum, Naples. You will be able to visit the famous characteristic fashion and artisans' shops, as well as attend the many cultural and artistic happenings that take place throughout the year. Those who like go out at night will find that the Amalfi Coast has a lot to offer: from piano-bars to very exclusive night clubs. To reach the villa you will have to walk along a downhill pathway plus 10 steps from the parking lot. Bus stop, restaurants and shops are at a short distance from the villa. If you are a larger group, you could also consider the villa Terrazza, in the same building.

Location

The Villa is situated 2 Km far from the centre of the town of Positano.

A car can be useful as the villa is not so close to the centre of the village, but there is a good public transportation system by the SITA bus company. The bus line is Amalfi-Positano-Sorrento.

The villa Laurito has only 10 steps far from the road level, possibility to have a private car parking free of charge. Bus stop on the road level.

Arriving in Positano

The best way to reach Positano (and apartment Laurito) from Rome is the following: Use A1 (Autostrada) to Naples; once you are in the area of Caserta, DON'T use the A30 to Salerno Reggio Calabria as that highway takes you somewhere else and will take one extra hour circa. So, keep on going until the barriers of Naples and pay the toll. After the barriers, you are on a big highway that will leads you to the A3 to Salerno. Take this Autostrada (highway) A3 as you were going to Salerno/Vietri. Exit at Castellammare di Stabia. Just outside the exit you take the road in front of you, or on your left. If you mistake, on your left there is another road getting you towards Sorrento area, take it. Make sure you don't go into the town of Castellammare. So, you'll pass by this first town of Castellammare through a long straight road, then after that another tunnel. Immediately after, keep on going, through the second tunnel and towards Sorrento. Again, never follow Castellammare di Stabia town centre. After the area of Castellammare di Stabia you'll pass though another tunnel by the town of Vico Equense and then you'll arrive in Meta di Sorrento. Be careful at the signs in this town, as at the end of the town you'll hit the intersection to Positano Praiano Amalfi. If you miss it, don't panic, after 1 km or so there is another intersection towards Positano on your left. Follow the road and then, once you arrive in Positano, keep on going towards Amalfi, don't enter the town centre About 3 kms or so (2 miles) you'll arrive outside the town and you'll see on your right the hotel San Pietro and then, after circa 300 meters on the left the restaurant La Taverna del Leone where we'll meet.
