General description of apartment Masaniello

Masaniello apartment is an amazing property situated in an old lovely little village of fishermen called Atrani, which is about 500 meters along the coast from Amalfi. Atrani is one of the smallest villages in Italy considering the territory and for its landscape is like a Nativity Scene, in the typical Mediterranean context of overlapping houses one on the other. The houses are connected by various stairs and pathways. The village was built around the picturesque Piazzetta, one of the most popular meeting points every evening for young and old with its cafes and restaurants. From the Piazzetta you can arrive at the small beach where you can enjoy lazy days in the sun without having to walk too far from your apartment. There are many little stores surrounding the piazza and you can admire the beautiful Church of San Salvatore (with the famous antique bronze doors) which faces the piazza, and the Church of Maddalena, situated higher up on the mountainside. During summer in Atrani take place many events and festivities; the highlight of these festivities is the patron feast which is celebrated by a spectacular fireworks display in the sky as well as the famous underwater fireworks that Atrani is known for. Atrani is also famous for its wonderful restaurants where you will find some of the best seafood dishes in the Amalfi area. The apartment, facing directly to the National Road (S.S.163), is located in a comfortable position, about 60 steps from the main road and is only 100 meters from the beach and the piazza, so everything is at your disposal. You don't even need a car (parking in this area is quite complicated), as just on the main road you can board the local bus that will take you to any of the neighboring villages. The apartment, completely restored, is 60 sqm. and consists of 2 bedrooms, one with a double bed, the other with two single bed, a living room/kitchen, 2 bathrooms, one with shower, the other with tub, laundry service and a terrace that leads on every room. From the terrace, equipped with table, chairs and sun umbrella, you will enjoy a wide view of the sea to the picturesque burg of Atrani, made up by a dense set of small coloured buildings clinging to slopes of the cliff in the shape of a natural amphitheatre; open toward the sea.

Arriving in Amalfi

Take Autostrada (highway) A3 as if you were going to Salerno/Vietri. Exit at Castellammare di Stabia. Drive down a long straight road, then after that, through a tunnel. At the exit of this first tunnel, go right to Gragnano-Agerola and follow the signs to Amalfi. After this turn, you will be at the beginning of the town of Gragnano: do not enter it, take a right turn towards Agerola. You will go through the towns of Pimonte, then Agerola, then Furore, Conca dei Marini, where there is a famous cloister. Here, pay attention to these instructions: after this cloister in Conca you will go through a tunnel, then after about 1 km, after some bends you will arrive at an intersection to Pogerola/Amalfi about 1 km before the main coast road. Keep on going towards the coastal road.Then turn right to Amalfi. In the centre of Amalfi, near the taxi stand, there is some space for parking the car for some minutes. That is where you will meet our colleague.

Supplemental information

The apartment is on the main road and centrally located. We strongly suggest to come in Amalfi without car. The parking is very difficult in the town of Amalfi and you can use public transportation to reach the major towns of the Amalfi coast.
