General description of apartment Afrodite

Afrodite is located in one of the most photographed spot of the Amalfi area, at 165 steps from the center of Amalfi and at 90 steps from the antique 5 star grand hotel Convento Cappuccini. The centre of Amalfi is a strategic base for your excursions to Ravello, to get on a boat to Capri, Ischia, Positano and Naples, get on the bus to Pompeii and Herculaneum.
The villa is located in a quiet position with a spectacular view from every room of the touristic port , the beaches of Amalfi and the coast, the old fashion Hotel Luna to the majestic Monastery of Santa Rosa. Aphrodite has been recently restored and it is well equipped in a typical Arab style with fantastic arches and ethnical furniture.
The villa has an area of about 80 sqm, on three levels and features 2 separated bedrooms (both matrimonial) a bright living room paved with hand-made tiles, equipped with a divan that accommodate 2 persons, a table with chairs, 2 bathrooms, both with shower, a kitchen with a four-burner gas cooker and electric oven, a refrigerator with freezer, a dishwasher, a microwave and an Italian coffee machine. The kitchen opens on one of the most spectacular terrace of Amalfi featuring a wood with 6 chairs, two deck chairs and an outside shower that can refresh its guests during the warm summer days.
Accessories: iron and iron-board, air conditioning/heating unit in every room, dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator, freezer, external shower, boiler, washer/dryer, air-dryer, table with 6 chairs and two deck chairs.

Casa Afrodite is in the most beautiful position of the town of Amalfi, just by the Grand Hotel Convento.

Parking and accessibility

Aphrodite has two access; the main one is at 90 steps from the main coastal road and the secondary is at 165 steps from the center of Amalfi. Parking is only possible in paying parking that are also difficult to reach. Best way is to get here by public transportation.

Arriving in Amalfi

In order to get from Naples airport to Amalfi, follow these instructions: Take Autostrada (highway) A3 as if you were going to Salerno/Vietri. Exit at Castellammare di Stabia. Follow the long straight road, then after that go through a tunnel. At the exit of this first tunnel, turn right towards Gragnano-Agerola and follow the signs to Amalfi. After this turn, you'll be at the beginning of the town of Gragnano: don't enter it, turn right towards Agerola. You'll go through the towns of Pimonte, then Agerola, then Furore, Conca dei Marini, where there is a famous cloister. Here, pay attention to these instructions: after this cloister in Conca you'll go through a tunnel, then after about 1 km, after some bends you'll arrive at an intersection to Pogerola/Amalfi at about 1 km before the main coast road. Follow the directions to Amalfi and after 1Km there is another intersection Amalfi/Sorrento. Stop at this intersection, do not go on to the main road. There you'll be met by our representative who will help you with the check in.

Beautiful setting, well maintained, and excellent location. Would recommend providing a couple English language channels via satellite; in addition, would recommend providing wi-fi - even if a surcharge, it is much more convenient than walking into the town to check your emails or look online. I would suggest clearly identifying the amount of stairs to town from the apartment - while we were able to manage frequent trips, the stairs would present a challenge to older individuals or those less energetic. Would suggest a binder of the local amenities in town and schedules for the area (ferry, bus, etc) be available in the apartment as well.

our answer : the owner took good note of these issues! She will provide Internet access for next year; by the way, we are always available and rent them directly at check in, if previously required. About the steps, they are clearly identified in the description of the property page. we'll make sure the owner will have bus and ferry scehdule for our next customers! Good point.

Absolutely fantastic, breath taking view, wonderful for a family holiday. Agents were promptly responsive to requests/queries. Would've stayed an extra week or two. Fantastic location, lovely neighbours and fantastic property. Lots of steps, but thats a given in Italy. Every step is worth the view.
