General description of villa B - Villa Mirella Antica

This Amalfi villa is a hidden "Gem" nestled amongst terraces lined with lemon trees and flowers; a landscape characteristic of this part of Pogerola named Sopramare. Situated 4.5kms from Amalfi there are beautiful views of the sea and the neighbouring villages. This location is kissed by the sun, and in the early morning the colours of the lemon groves seem to intensify. Pogerola is an agricultural village which survives on the abundant local produce as well as tourism in the summer months due to its close proximity to Amalfi. Villa Mirella is situated 50steps from the main road, private car parking for three cars. Further up the road about 1 km you have a supermarket which is open late during the summer. The stairs down to Villa Mirella are not particularly difficult and you can easily take your time to enjoy the scenery as you walk them. These stairways are very popular with tourists who choose to use them to get all the way to Amalfi as they offer many photographic opportunities. The nearest stop of the bus is at 800 meters by long way or by 200 steps going up. The centre of the village is accessed or by a stair of steps in 10 minutes or by a long way. There is a regular bus service which takes you directly to Amalfi's main bus station on the port of Amalfi, where you can then board other buses to any of the villages along the Amalfi Coast that you wish to visit, or ferries to the islands and other ports. There is a path that leads to Amalfi which takes about 30 minutes. Villa Mirella is well maintained and is renovated two years ago. This place is a haven where you could certainly lose yourself for a while as you rest and recuperate from the stresses of city living. Instead of awaking to the ringing sound of an alarm clock you may rise from your sleep to the distant sound of a rooster as the inhabitants here have been doing for centuries. Villa Mirella is on 3 level and accommodate 10 + 7 people. Every floor has a private access.

Villa Mirella is situated 4.5 Km far from the centre of Amalfi, reachable by public transportation. Bus stop 600 meters far from the house.

Parking and accessibility

50 steps far from the road level where is possible park the car in the private car parking.

Arriving in Amalfi

From the Naples airport take the Autostrada (highway) A3 as if you were going to Salerno/Vietri. Exit at Castellammare di Stabia. Follow the long, straight road, then go through a tunnel. At the exit of the first tunnel, go right to Gragnano-Agerola and follow the signs to Amalfi. After this turn you will be in the outskirts of the town of Gragnano: do not enter Gragnano, go right towards Agerola. You will go through the towns of Pimonte, Agerola, Furore and Conca dei Marini where there is a famous cloister. Here you must pay close attention to these driving instructions. After the Cloister in Conca dei Marini you will go through a tunnel, drive about 1 km past the cloister, after some bends you will arrive at the intersection to Pogerola/Amalfi about 1 km before the main coast road.
Proceed left in the direction of Pogerola. Stop near the hotel Excelsior, but not on the property. Here you will meet the representative who will direct you to the apartment.

This was the epitome of the Amalfi Coast....gorgeous, real community, great location. However, be advised that there are MANY steps to climb to the villa, to the village, to the bus, to Amalfi, etc. Transportation is NOT easy in Amalfi. But our agent, Luisa, was amazing helpful even to the point of getting her father to help tote our luggage from the taxi stop to the top of the villa. The individual units were great and all was so clean and modern. The views from the terraces were great and so beautiful. AC worked great but the available WIFI is slow at best and often didn't work due to the mountains.... Our family LOVED this place and Amalfi Coast Rental did a great job and was always available. GREAT service....would definitely stay there again.
